The role of legal awareness in advanced delinquent behavior

The article justifies the need to reduce the manifestations of delinquent behavior by influencing the personality of the offender and his sense of justice, eliminating factors that contribute to the deformation of the sense of justice and illegal behavior. It is proven that a decisive role in the formation of delinquent behavior is played by a combination of factors such as the moral and mental state of a person, his deformed sense of justice, as well as external factors, i.e. a combination of motives, causes and conditions. The consequences of the influence of certain external circumstances on the sense of justice and delinquent behavior are considered, primarily poverty and social inequality, corruption and injustice. All this leads to the humiliation of a person, the deterioration of his health, including psychological health, and an increase in the number of people with alcohol or drug addiction. These circumstances not only contribute to a sharp decline in the quality and standard of living of the population, but also to the degradation of the person, the marginalization of society, the growth of the destructive-pessimistic potential of public consciousness, deformations in the sphere of value orientations, crises, conflicts, anomie, tension and social explosions. This is a significant factor in the spread of delinquent behavior and crime. By his behavior, the offender denies a specific legal norm or group of norms that protect the social relations that he encroached on. In this case, the preventive role of the law does not achieve the intended goal. An important factor influencing the overcoming of delinquent behavior is everyone’s conviction in the need to comply with current legislation, which can be formed only on the basis of legal knowledge and a high level of legal awareness. An effective system for preventing delinquent behavior should provide for the creation of conditions for the exercise of human and civil rights and freedoms, the formation of an effective system of sanctions that stop and punish violations of current legislation, overcoming social inequality and injustice, real successes in the fight against corruption, and increasing the level of legal culture and legal awareness.

Key words: crime, offense, law, legal system, deformation, motive.
