The causes of deviant behavior and their inheritance are currently becoming unclear Abstract

ISSN online: 2617-9776 print: 0869-2491

Introduction. The current problem of legal science is the identification and study of those threats that arise in the modern world due to changes in social relations, the decline of culture, the deformation of moral norms, wars, the development of new technologies. All this can stimulate deviant behavior, which, in turn, leads to the violation of human rights. The aim of the article is to analyze the modern causes of deviant behavior and predict its consequences. To achieve this goal, the following tasks should be performed: to determine the modern causes of deviant behavior; to consider the features of modern deviations; to trace the influence of culture on behavior; to determine ways to prevent deviant behavior in modern realities.

Results. The methodology of the article covers dialectical and phenomenological approaches, as well as formal-logical, systemic and structural-functional methods. The new theory of deviance considers offenses as a means of both defense and attack, and adaptation to the conditions and challenges of social reality. This theory of deviance emphasizes that new technologies, social upheavals, power imbalances, and changing social values contribute to the reduction of ethical and sociocultural barriers that are guarantors of behavior, thereby leading to the emergence and maintenance of deviance.

Conclusions. Deviance, as a behavioral phenomenon, is a process and result of deviation from the main line of behavior adopted in a group or society; it is characterized by a change in personal means and ways of interacting with the world around a person and himself. Culture has a huge influence on behavior. At the same time, deviations should be sought not in culture itself, but in human actions that correspond or do not correspond to the principles of morality and morality, as an internal state of a person. Functionalism considers deviant behavior not as a pathology, but as a natural and even functional phenomenon that arises due to structural and cultural factors in society, emphasizes its role in maintaining the social structure. The study of deviance allows us to understand the changing boundaries of social norms and contributes to their improvement, as well as helping society adapt to the negative consequences that can result from human behavior.
